Leopard 2 PL

The Leopard 2PL main battle tank is part of Poland's military modernization plan aimed at enhancing defense capabilities and ensuring strategic security. Its development began in 2002 when Germany donated 128 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Poland, providing an opportunity for Poland to modernize its equipment. In 2013, by signing a contract with Germany, Poland introduced more Leopard 2A4 and Leopard 2A5 tanks, laying the foundation for future upgrades. The Polish Ministry of Defense chose Germany's Rheinmetals as its upgrade partner in 2015 to collaborate on the development of the Leopard 2PL standard. This upgrade includes advanced modular armor systems, improved artillery, advanced aiming systems, and other critical upgrades, enabling this main battle tank to better perform missions on modern battlefields.
