In 1942, Germany initiated the Maus super-heavy tank project, concurrently proposing a "mobile firepower point" concept. By 1943, Krupp developed the Mauskonig design, adopting Maus’ hybrid drive and four-track chassis, weighing 250 tons. It featured detachable side armor, auxiliary tracks, and a composite air-defense system with an integrated AA-gun and 20mm autocannon. Designed to fortify static defenses, the project never advanced beyond blueprints due to Allied bombing of Krupp factories.
