Isn’t Cromwell’s HE shell a bit overpowered? Also, the turret damage effect seems a bit too weak.

According to in-game data, Cromwell’s HE shell contains only 590 grams of TNT, yet its destructive power sometimes seems to exceed what that amount should deliver. I’ve had several frustrating experiences playing it—here are two examples.

  1. On the Western Front map, after setting my Tiger to a 38.8-degree angle and facing off against a Cromwell, the Cromwell fired a single HE shell that hit my vehicle’s frontal armor at full angle. Normally, with that setup, everyone on board would be fine—but this time, the entire crew was wiped out instantly.

  2. Still on the Western Front, after finishing off an enemy and retreating behind cover, a Cromwell fired an HE shell that struck the lower side of my turret, just below the smoke‑launcher housing—and again, the whole crew died.

I retaliated with my own 900‑gram TNT HE round. There’s no doubt: Cromwell’s armor is significantly thinner than the Tiger’s, and its crew layout is very similar to the Tiger’s—but the Cromwell didn’t suffer a total‑crew kill.

So, it seems the British Empire’s TNT is real TNT, while Witzemann’s TNT is just… sand?

T-34s, Shermans, and Panzer IVs in G, F, and H variants all end up immobilized without fail when hit by PzGr.40 rounds. But our good old Cromwell? After taking the same kind of penetration to the side or rear, well—aside from losing one or two crew members, it’s as good as new! This must be “Armor made in UK”—super British, indeed!

I hope the developers can adjust Cromwell’s stats. Thank you.

I think the overpressure phenomenon is overdone, just like in War Thunder.
